Sweet Home, Oregon

Sweet Home is a community of 9,060 nestled in the West foothills of the Cascade Mountains in the East end of Linn County, Oregon. Located approximately 20 miles from Oregon's major north-south arterial route I-5, Sweet Home's historical roots lie deep in the timber industry. As environmental issues reduced the harvesting of timber on government and private lands during the 1980s, Sweet Home experienced a major decline in population and industry. But, while other Oregon timber communities died away, the Sweet Home Community banded together and rode through the changes, eventually turning a small timber town into a unique and livable community for families who prefer a small town lifestyle with easy access to metropolitan communities and recreational opportunities.
